Third Annual African American Conference

This free, community-centered event will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM (Doors open at 8:30 AM) at Life Together Center, 3625 N Sheridan Rd, Peoria, IL 61604.

This event is designed to support the Black and African American community in navigating the complexities of Alzheimer’s and dementia caregiving. Whether you are currently a caregiver, preparing to become one, or a healthcare professional, this conference will provide valuable resources, support, and insights to help you on your caregiving journey.

What to Expect:

● Inspiring Talks: Hear from experienced caregivers who share their personal journeys and insights.

● Helpful Resources: Learn about various resources available for caregivers and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

● Support Networks: Connect with others who understand your challenges and share advice and support.

● Vendors: Meet vendors who specialize in services for caregivers and dementia care.

The conference will feature a wide array of community partners including Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging, Health Alliance, and our Conference Planning Committee made up of local leaders, health care professionals, and caregivers. Their collective efforts aim to provide the Black and African American community with essential tools for caregiving and promote open discussions around Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
