Join us for a Once in a Lifetime Experience! Let's Create a Legendary Mural for Peoria!

Graceland Center is thrilled to announce an exciting new art project, generously funded by AARP!

Participants from Graceland Center are partnering with youth and families from the Westminster Connected Families to paint a vibrant artist, Megan Couri's, rendition of "Celebrate Generations, Peoria!" We surveyed participants from Graceland Center, youth, and their adults for ideas which artist Megan Couri wove into a design for us to paint together. This community mural will serve as a lasting artistic contribution to Peoria—celebrating the beauty of intergenerational relationships and visually honoring the vital role older adults play in our families, friendships, and neighborhoods.

• 🗓️ Thursday September 10 5:30 pm-7:30 pm

• 📍 Westminster Community Center 1504 W Moss Ave Peoria, Il 61606

• 💼 No Experience required: The mural will be a paint by number! Wear clothes can get messy!

We will serve a light dinner at 5:30 pm and then will start shifts of painting for 30 minutes of 5 persons each. We will schedule you at your preferred time, if possible.

Painting our Celebrating Generations, Peoria! mural our first session was magical! Younger children with their parents, UICOMP medical students and staff, GCPA volunteers and participants painting together side by side was such a meaningful, fun, and refreshing moment! And stay tuned for our ribbon cutting event when the mural gets posted on the Gabbert's Construction building at SW Adams and MacArthur Hwy!!
